Thomas Armstrong graduated cum laude from Bucknell University with a B.A. in Chemistry before attending Temple University Medical School. As a Captain in the U.S. Army, he completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center in Denver. Dr. Armstrong then completed his Ophthalmology residency at Temple University Hospital. Dr. Armstrong is licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine as well as the Drug Enforcement Administration. He is also board certified in Ophthalmology. While in the U.S. Army, Dr. Armstrong served as a Flight Surgeon, Brigade Surgeon, and General Medical Officer of the 3rd Brigade, 1st Armored Division in Bamberg, Germany.

Dr. Armstrong’s awards include National Merit Scholarship Recipient from Bucknell University, Augustus Peal Pathology Award from Temple University Medical School, Retinoscopy Award and Eye Surgery Award from Temple Hospital Department of Ophthalmology, Bulldog Certificate from the 3rd Brigade of Bamberg, Germany and Eagle Scout Award.
Dr. Armstrong is currently the Chief of the Department of Ophthalmology at Abington Memorial Hospital. His past professional activities included both Secretary-Treasurer and President of the Inter-County Ophthalmology Society, an Elected Member of the Executive Committee at Abington Memorial Hospital and Secretary and Board Member of the Greater Philadelphia Eye Care Centers for Excellence.
Dr. Armstrong is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Medical Association, Pennsylvania Academy of Ophthalmology, the Inter-County Ophthalmologic Society and the Greater Philadelphia Eye Care Centers for Excellence.
