Walter Dearolf earned a bachelor of arts in biology from LaSalle College before graduating from Jefferson Medical College with his medical degree in 1982. He completed his medical training with a surgical internship and an orthopedic surgery residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Penn. Dr. Dearolf is certified by the National Medical Board and the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. In addition, he is licensed to practice medicine by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Dearolf has appointments at Jeanes Hospital, Holy Redeemer Hospital and Medical Center, and American Oncologic Hospital. He has served on numerous committees at both Holy Redeemer Hospital and Jeanes Hospital, where he is currently the Chief of the Division of Orthopedic Surgery.
His current professional memberships include the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Pennsylvania Orthopedic Society, the Eastern Orthopedic Society and the Jefferson Orthopedic Society.
